As long as you're talking about the popular Paganini Etude by Liszt (from the better-known 2nd edition of the etudes), it isn't really as hard as everyone seems to believe. The technique falls together more quickly than you might think, and I've never played an easier-to-memorise piece before (it's all pretty much the same thing).
